As the end of the year approaches, Tsinghua University has organized an exchange meeting between renowned international scholars.
The event was attended by Tsinghua Vice-President Yang Bin, Professor Shing-tung Yau and more than 70 international scholars and their families from nearly 20 countries and regions, representing 14 departments at the university. Nur Evi Rahmawati, economic minister counselor of the Indonesian Embassy in China, was invited to join, along with a number of representatives from the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration.
In his speech, Yang highlighted the significant progress Tsinghua University has made in international collaboration over the course of the year. He talked of plans to strengthen partnerships with universities both in China and abroad, with the aim of attracting more international scholars and students to the Tsinghua community. Yang also expressed the university's commitment to listening to the suggestions and feedback of international scholars and looked forward to continuing to work together in building a harmonious and friendly international campus in the coming year.
During the event, Yang also granted certificates to Andy Godfrey and John Paul Grima, senior consultants for international students & scholars’ affairs, in recognition of their contributions to improving services for international students.
Following the event, a gala for the international scholars was held.
