TopTalk | Reticular Chemistry for a Sustainable Future

Omar M. Yaghi

was awarded 2018 Wolf Prize in Chemistry

for his contribution in the field of reticular chemistry.

On October 27th,

We have invited this

leading figure in the field of

Reticular Chemistry

to take you on an exploration of

Reticular Chemistry

for a Sustainable Future

Keynote Speaker

Omar M. Yaghi

· 2018 Wolf Prize in Chemistry

· James and  Neeltje Tretter Chair Professor  of Chemistry at University of California, Berkeley

· Honorary Professor of Tsinghua University

Professor Omar M. Yaghi’s work encompasses the synthesis, structure and properties of inorganic and organic compounds and the design and construction of new crystalline materials. He is widely known for pioneering several extensive classes of new materials: Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs), and Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks (ZIFs).

Panelist

Wang Haihui

· Director of

Membrane Engineer Center of Tsinghua

· Professor at Tsinghxua University

Prof. Haihui Wang has conducted in-depth and systematic research on inorganic membrane separation, membrane-catalyzed reactions and electrocatalytic nitrogen reduction for ammonia synthesis. He innovatively proposed the idea of reaction-reaction coupling, which realized the coupling of hydrogen production from water decomposition, NOx decomposition and syngas production from partial oxidation of methane in an oxygen permeable membrane reactor.

Guest Speaker

Juergen Caro

· 2020 Eni Award

· Members of Leopoldina the German National Academy of Sciences

Prof. Juergen Caro has published more than 300 research papers in the fields of inorganic membrane separation, membrane catalyzed reactions and nanomaterials. Prof. Juergen Caro worked at the Adlershof Institute of Applied Chemistry in Berlin from 1991 to 2001 in the fields of inorganic and polymeric materials, functional materials and reaction engineering.
