On August 31, 2011, the experts from the Ministry of Science, National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance formed the evaluation and supervision team to conduct a review on the project “research and model on water pollution control and technology of quality improvement in the old city community” led by Professor Liu Xiang and the project “research and model on emergency purification technology and process systems of drinking water” led by assistant professor Chen Chao .
The team took efforts to review the technical materials and financial implementation materials of the two projects and exchanged opinions on the implementation of budgets and comprehensive review. The assistant researcher Chen Guang in the assessment center of the Ministry of Science and the vice president Xiaoyun Sun of the Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy hosted the meeting. The other attendees included the seven leaders of the three ministries, twelve leaders from the major project management office of Research School in Tsinghua University, Finance department and office of specialized projects on water of School of Environment in Tsinghua University.
The specialized research and review on major water projects is an important part of the annual supervision and evaluation conducted by the national committees in 2011. It indicates a significant meaning in the work improvement and the preparation of review. It is said that the result of the review will be published at the end of this month or early next month.
