International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) appointed Prof. Liu Wenjun from Tsinghua University as the Director of the Asia Division on March 28.
Prof. Liu has been dedicated to doing research on disinfection technology over the last few years. He directed the first full-scale municipal tap water ultraviolet disinfection project in China in 2010 and won the Best UV Engineering Project of 2010 from IUVA in 2011. The outcome of another project of his was also selected as the promoting technology in the 12th five-year period.
Prof. Liu is currently the Deputy Secretary of the SOE Committee of CPC, the Director of the Ultraviolet Radiation Sterilization Technical Committee of Standardization Administration of China and the Secretary-General of Water Engineering for China Civil Engineering Society. He has been the Executive Director of IUVA since 2005 and was elected as the Director responsible for the region of Asia and Australia.
