The Department of Social Development (DSD) of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MST) organized the performance appraisal for the project of Development and Application of Cleaner Production and Circular Economy Key Technology in the National Key Technology Research and Development Program (NKTP) in Beijing on July 19.
Professor Chen Jining, President of THU and the Leader of the Project of Development and Application of Cleaner Production and Circular Economy Key Technology, delivered a summary report at the appraisal meeting. Mr. Sun Yongcheng, Deputy Director-General of DSD, Mr. Xu Jun, Chief of Division of Resources and Environment of DSD, Mr. Liu Quanzhi, Deputy Director-General of Department of Science, Technology and Standards of Ministry of Environmental Protection, and Mr. Bi Junsheng, Chief from the Department of Energy Conservation and Resources Utilization of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, attended the appraisal. 14 appraisal group experts all approved the performance of projects, including Professor Zuo Tieyong, Professor Qian Yi, Professor Xu Bingshi and Professor Zhangyi, Academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Duan Xue, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Feng Zhijun, Counselor of the State Council, and Mr. Wang Yangzu, the Chairman of China Association of Environmental Protection Industry.
This project mainly focused on cleaner productions, solid waste resource recovery and circular economy technology in more than 20 industries. After 5 years of work, 6 demonstration regions, 12 demonstration projects, 160 pilot production lines, 331 national patents and 6 international patents, 86 innovative products, 35 national standards and 31 career standards, 788 published papers and 24 published books were achieved. As a result, it was awarded the second class prize for the above 12 projects for its scientific and technological achievements from the provincial level and the trade association.
