Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering in China (FESE), co-sponsored by THU and Higher Education Press, obtained the impact factor of 0.754 in 2011 Journal Citation Reports (JCR) issued by Thomson Reuters on June 29.
This was the first time for FESE to gain the impact factor in JCR. It ranked 173 among 205 journals on Environmental Sciences, 38 among 45 journals on Environmental Engineering and 70 among 154 Chinese Journals.
FESE was initiated by the Ministry of Education in 2007 and is quarterly issued by Springer Co., Ltd. In 2012, FESE changed to a bimonthly journal, whose editors consist of more than 40 famous experts including Academician Qian Yi of Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), Director of Academician Committee of Tsinghua University, Academician Hao Jiming of CAE, Professor Perry L. McCarty from Stanford University, Academician of American Academy of Engineering and American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Professor Qu Jiuhui, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Director of Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, CAS and Professor Gatze Lettinga from Wageningen University. FESE was indexed by Science Citation Index Expanded from 2009. It contains reviews, research papers and Academic Alerts covering all areas of Environmental Science and Engineering.
