On the morning of May 25th, the inauguration ceremony and the first meeting of the Management Committee of the Tsinghua University (School of Environment)-CSD Water Service Co., Ltd. Joint Research Center for Environmental Green Infrastructure in Small and Medium-Sized Cities (hereinafter referred to as the Joint Research Center) were held in the Sino-Italian Ecological and Energy Efficient Building.
SOE Dean Liu Yi attended the meeting and made an opening speech. Liu Yi said that Xu Guodong, the founder of CSD Water Service Co., Ltd., and his team are far-sighted and responsible, and have held fast to their value and made proper judgment in their development. SOE has also gained advantages in resources and technological innovation after years of development. Liu Yi expected that through the joint efforts, the objectives and tasks of the Joint Research Center will be implemented successfully, and the chain between scientific exploration, technological innovation and industrial services will be established. Furthermore, he stated that both CSD Water Service Co., Ltd. and SOE will start from the establishment of the Joint Research Center to explore more cooperation.
Xu Guodong, Chairman of CSD Water Service Co., Ltd., started his speech with great congratulation to his alma mater Tsinghua University on its 110th anniversary and thanked SOE for the valuable cooperation opportunity. He said that the two sides have established a long-term cooperation with jointly participation in a series of industrialization in the 12th and 13th Five-year National Water Pollution Control and Treatment Science and Technology Major Project, and have made numerous achievements in industrial demonstration. He emphasized that the Joint Research Center is a win-win cooperation between a university and an environmental protection enterprise. In addition, Xu elaborated the conception of green infrastructure in three aspects, namely, circular and sustainable development, integration and sharing, and low-carbon development. He stated that with the establishment of the Joint Research Center, CSD Water Service Co., Ltd. will serve the environmental development of small and medium-sized cities better, and promote the industry-university-research cooperation through green infrastructure construction and collaborative innovation.
Shao Kai, General Manager of CSD Water Service Co., Ltd., said that the members of the Joint Research Center should stick to the goal and devote themselves to solving the increasingly serious environmental and energy problems in small and medium-sized cities. He pointed out that while developing high-tech products and implementing projects, the members should also pay more attention to talent training. It is expected to become a practical model of personnel training and school-enterprise cooperation.
After the inauguration ceremony, Jiang Jingkun, SOE Vice Dean and Director of the Management Committee of the Joint Research Center, presided over the first meeting of the Management Committee. Jiang introduced the executive team to the members of the Management Committee, and reported the Charter of the Tsinghua University (School of Environment)-CSD Water Service Co., Ltd. Joint Research Center for Environmental Green Infrastructure in Small and Medium-Sized Cities, and the planned changes of the institution. Wang Kaijun, Director of the Joint Research Center, reported the Research Content and Annual Work Plan of the Joint Research Center. After that, the first meeting of the Management Committee approved the Charter of the Tsinghua University (School of Environment)-CSD Water Service Co., Ltd. Joint Research Center for Environmental Green Infrastructure in Small and Medium-Sized Cities, the Application Form for the Planned Changes of the Joint Construction Institution, and the Research Content and Annual Work Plan of the Joint Research Center.
