The seminar was chaired by Professor Liu Shuming, SOE Dean. He provided a detailed overview of the research progress and achievements concerning AI for Ecology and Environment at the School. He also emphasized the importance of intelligent management systems for ecology and environmental protection.

Wang Dianchang, Party Secretary and Chairman of the Yangtze Ecology and Environment Co., Ltd introduced CTG's explorations and needs in artificial intelligence and ecology and environmental protection.

Li Wei from the System Simulation Institute of the Yangtze River Ecology and Environment Engineering Research Center introduced CTG's progress in AI research. He particularly focused on its applications in ecology environment monitoring, management, and decision support, highlighting the potential and importance of AI in advancing the ecology and environment field.

Professor Xu Ming, SOE Associate Dean and Director of the AI for Ecology and Environment Research Center, Tsinghua University, focused on the research achievements in both discriminative and generative AI. He also detailed the specific applications of these technologies in environmental data monitoring, analysis, and intelligent management.

The seminar also discussed the potential of AI to enhance environmental policy decision-making and operational efficiency of projects, as well as its application in real-world projects. Both parties agreed that AI can address challenges that traditional methods struggle to overcome and provide new perspectives for the protection of the Yangtze River and the analysis of ecological and environmental changes. They emphasized that technological innovation and collaboration are key to enhancing the efficiency of ecology and environment protection and management.

This seminar not only deepened mutual understanding between both parties in the field of AI for ecology and environment but also laid the foundation for the development and application of related technologies. Both parties look forward to further communication and collaboration in the field of AI for ecology and environment, working together to contribute to the protection of the Yangtze River and the construction of a beautiful China.
