The 2nd Qianyi Environment and Sustainable Development Conference (QESDC) was held on April 20-21, 2024, in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. The conference was hosted by the Management Committee of Qianyi Environment Education Fund (QEEF) and jointly organized by the School of Resources & Environment of Nanchang University (NCU), the School of Environment at Tsinghua University, and the Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education on River Basin Carbon Neutrality at Nanchang University. Qian Yi, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a professor at the School of Environment (SOE) at Tsinghua University, along with nearly 100 scholars from across the country, gathered at the event to engage in exchanges and discussions on the topic “Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development”.
The 2nd Qianyi Environment and Sustainable Development Conference was held
Prof. Ge Gang, a member of the University Council and Vice President of NCU, greeted all the guests and delivered an address. In his speech, Ge pointed out that, as a national pilot zone for both eco-environmental conservation and for ecosystem product value realization, Jiangxi is well-positioned, and NCU is ready to play its part in promoting ecological conservation across the province. He emphasized the great importance that NCU attaches to the construction and development of environment-related disciplines, such as carbon neutrality in river basins. He highlighted the deep ties between Prof. Qian and NCU and Jiangxi, noting that Prof. Qian has provided ample guidance and assistance in the application and construction of the NCU Key Laboratory of Poyang Lake Environment and Resource Utilization under the Ministry of Education. In conclusion, Ge wished this conference a complete success.
