On April 26th, 2024, the Amazon Research Awards (ARA) revealed the list of recipients for the fall 2023 cycle. A total of 98 researchers from 51 universities in 15 countries are honored. Professor Xu Ming, Associate Dean of the School of Environment, Tsinghua University is the sole recipient from a Chinese higher education institution for this year. The selection process spanned six fields, including AI for Information Security, Automated Reasoning, AWS AI, AWS Cryptography and Privacy, AWS Database Services, and Sustainability. Professor Xu Ming's award-winning research project, "Advancing Sustainable Practices in the AI Era: Integrating Large Language Models for Automated Life Cycle Assessment Modeling", was selected as one of the 9 sustainability-focused projects by the ARA's review committee from a multitude of outstanding submissions.
